In February, I had the opportunity to participate in my first hackathon, organized by Erhvervsakademi Aarhus | Business Academy Aarhus, TechCircle CD-EDIH, Aarhus City Lab, and the Culture and Citizen Services department of Aarhus Municipality. My team and I worked on the theme of "Democratic Confidence" and created a digital solution aimed at helping young people engage more in creating citizen proposals. We sought to address the root of the issue by offering accessible educational resources to tackle the trust issues young people face when expressing their opinions.
This, combined with a bit of UI redesign, better marketing of deltag.aarhus.dk, and reasoning for why it was more effective to improve the current website instead of developing an app, earned us first place in our category and a ticket to the UX Nordic Conference.
